Thousands of people join the internet world each day starting their own businesses online. Each day hundreds of people also get frustrated over get rich quick promises that do not pan out. Instead of getting scammed and losing money that you can't afford to lose - take a moment to look at the Top Ten Internet Businesses.
| It is important that you understand up front that these are businesses, which means they will require you to work. No one is going to hand you a gold mind, every person that has a successful online business has one because they worked for it.
|
The good news is that each of these businesses has the potential to make you money, the amount of money you make is really going to depend on you. If you are ready to work, here are the businesses that you should look into.
These top ten Internet businesses are so listed because of their low start-up costs, low learning curve, and potentially quick turnaround to earning your first dollar.
Top Ten Internet Business #1: Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate Marketing - this is the business that most people get started with because it doesn't cost anything to get started. Basically what you are doing here is finding products that you want to promote, other people's products, and you "sell" it for a percentage of each sale.
You are going to need to educate yourself on marketing tactics to use online. You will probably want to read a book or two on writing copywriting, keyword research, and choosing a niche. You'll also need a blog or web site.
Honestly, you could start this business today and be making money tomorrow (although that does take some expertise to do.)
The time it takes you to make money is going to depend on the product(s) you chose and the amount of work you put into your business.

Top Ten Internet Business #2: Network Marketing
Network Marketing - this is also known as multi-level marketing. Unfortunately MLMs have gotten a bad rap, many people have attempted to do network marketing and then complained that it was a scam because they weren't millionaires over night.
Network Marketing, or Multi Level Marketing, refer to businesses that bypass traditional retail storefronts, in favor of doing business through individual distributors. These individuals build their own "franchise" of the Network Marketing (or MLM) business - by generating interested leads, and exposing the product to those leads.
When done properly, with the right Internet Network Marketing strategy, it involves absolutely no hard selling.
And in fact, it doesn't involve pitching to friends and family either. (Pitching to friends-and-family is old school, traditional MLM. Which is a brute force way of succeeding in the industry. It doesn't have to be done this way, anymore.
Robert Kiyosaki has endorsed network marketing as business school for entrepreneurs. The MLM company will educate you on how to grow your business - but the start-up costs are minimal. Quick wealth is unlikely, but personal growth and long-term residual income are readily available for anyone willing to learn and build a business.
Top Ten Internet Business #3: Infopreneurship
Infopreneurship - this is a business where you are gathering and selling electronic information. Basically you are an entrepreneur that makes money selling information online.
If you are new to the industry you are going to need to take time to educate yourself on not only the industry but how to get the information and where to sell it, and in what format to sell it in. The potential to make a lot of money is there; sometimes it is amazing what people will pay for good information. However it is going to take time.
Infopreneurship is typically driven through Clickbank.com, or Commission Junction. You can create your own digital product - eBooks, audio files, or video files... and offer them to other distributors, or affiliates, who will sell them to their audiences for a commission.
Note - Infopreneurship is typically, but not always, facilitated through affiliate marketing. You could choose to manage your marketing and distribution yourself... bypassing affiliates, and keeping all profits. But I advise against being a one-man show... outsourcing and leverage are the name of the game, for successful infopreneurs.
Top Ten Internet Business #4: Online Auctions
Online Auctions - if you have items to sell, or if you decide to become an independent rep for places like Avon, where you have access to product that you don't have to stock - you can make money with online auctions like eBay.
| Now, you are going to want to spend some time looking over the auction sites and see what is already out there, because a saturated market is not necessarily a lucrative market.
This business doesn't require a lot of education, anyone can sell just about anything. Therefore - picking a targeted niche and learning about it will vastly increase your chances of success. Don't use the shotgun approach. :)
|
You may want to do some reading though on how to make your listing stand out from the rest so bidders are bidding on your item and not the competition. You can make money daily with eBay, it depends on the auctions you set up and the length of time it takes people to complete a winning bid.
I have colleagues who focus on eBay auctions, and do very brisk business. But note that eBay is no longer ONLY about auctions. It's also for establishing a storefront on which to sell hard goods (from stuff around the house, to larger items like cars, trains, and planes!)
Top Ten Internet Business #5: Selling Hard Goods Online
5. Selling Hard Goods Online - this is similar to selling on eBay or other auction sites, but not identical. If you have items that you want to sell, or if you are a representative for a company that requires you to maintain stock you can sell these items online. There are a number of ways that you can do this.
There is a famous example of a jet plane being sold by the state of Alaska, on eBay. That's just one data point to let you know how varied the items you can sell online are.
Hey - you never know if there's demand for something you have laying around the house, until you search eBay or other sites. To see what people may already be paying!
Note: PLEASE be careful of what photos you send to eBay though!
